Aim:

To provide healthcare staff with the essential knowledge and skills needed to treat adult patients in cardiac arrest for the short time before the arrival of a resuscitation team or more experienced assistance.

Outcome:

By the end of the session you will be able to:

-Demonstrate initial rescuscitation in the clinical setting, including chest compressions, ventillation and early safe defibrillation.

-Have a better understanding of the drugs that might be needed in the first few minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

-Have increased confidence in being involved in a cardiac arrest.

-Standardise current training already undertaken by the Resuscitation Trainer.

-Have an increase in confidence and personal safety.

The day will consist of lectures, practical demonstrations, skill stations and assessments.
