CPR AND DEFIBRILLATION COURSE

Who should attend:

This course is designed for participants who would like to develop their CPR and Defibrillation skills through nationally accredited qualifications for use in their work place.

Aim:

To enable staff to achieve a level of competence and update their knowledge and practical skills in CPR in line with the current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

To promote training in defibrillation alongside the current CPR training.

To train staff to participate in and/or lead a cardiac arrest.

Outcome:

By the end of the session you will be able to:

-Demonstrate the procedures when assessing an unconscious casualty.

-Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with or without airway adjuncts on a  manikin.

-Demonstrate the recovery position.

-Demonstrate a working knowledge of resuscitation equipment available within your working environment.

-Demonstrate the management and treatment of a choking adult.

-Demonstrate how to use a defibrillator safely and appropriately by assessment.

-Recognise and treat a patient who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
