ANAPHYLAXIS COURSE

Who should attend:

This course is designed for participants who administer injections as part of their role such as doctors, nurses and dentists.

Aim:

To provide healthcare professionals who administer injections in the hospital and community settings a greater awareness of anaphylaxis and how to recognise, manage and treat patients who have had an anaphylactic reaction.

Outcome:

By the end of the session you will be able to:

-Have increased awareness and understanding of the causes of anaphylaxis.

-Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis (mild, moderate and severe)

-Manage and administer appropriate treatment to patients suffering an anaphylactic reaction.

-State the local hospital policies and procedures for the emergency treatment of anaphylactic shock.
